Woman To Compete in Ms. Wheelchair USA

Jessica McFarlane is a mother, professional speaker, writer, certified teacher and web designer. She also has cerebral palsy, but obviously doesn't let that stand in the way of her dreams.

Jessica was recently named Ms. Wheelchair PA 2008 by the Ms. Wheelchair USA program and will compete in the national contest in August. The program was started in 2005 to celebrate the accomplishments of women with disabilities and less to be a "beauty pageant".

This is the second time that Jessica will represent Pennsylvania. In doing so she will continue to be a role model and inspiration to those with and without disabilities. Heather Postlewait, her friend and room mate, says that Jessica never ceases to amaze her.

"From my standpoint, Jessica is what this competition is about," Heather says. "She touches everyone she meets, she smiles at people and people just feel better when they are around her. I don't know how she does it."
