Bill Riddle was born with cerebral palsy. Despite the difficulties this may have caused in his life, Riddle has been an athlete and an inspiration to us all.

Bill says that he started wheelchair racing when he was at the rehabilitation center in 1986, and he raced up until 15 years ago, when he retired at age 27. Retirement didn't go over well with Riddle, but he wasn't sure if he had what he had what it took to get back into the game.

"I wanted to go back to it all the time," Riddle said. "I was getting old and gaining too much weight, and I had to do something. But at the same time the wheelchair that I had was all torn apart."

This is where good friends stepped in and helped Riddle get back in the game. They helped raise $2,500 to buy a regular racing wheelchair. A new chair was all Bill needed to get back into shape.

Now Bill owns state records for the javelin and club throw. He also competes in the shot put and discus. Not bad, huh?
