Abbey Curran to Speak About Cerebral Palsy
Abbey Curran is the first state winner in the history of the Miss USA Pageant to be diagnosed with cerebral palsy and will speak about her experiences at the Inland Regional Center's 11th annual Self-Advocacy Conference at the Riverside Convention Center. She says that she's very excited to be speaking at this year's conference because she hopes to encourage others to follow their dreams. She also says that you never know what you can accomplish until you try.
The conference where Curran is speaking is an overnight event designed to help the San Bernardino based regional center's disabled clients with their independence.
Curran will be making more public appearances, such as the one this weekend, since she competed in the Miss USA Pageant earlier this year.
She was first invited to show up on the Ellen show and then an article in People magazine profiled her. Things just snowballed from there.
