Blue Bell Hosts A Cerebral Palsy Golf Event

Around 60 golfers and 24 tennis players from the Philadelphia area attended a charity event that raised over $60,000 for cerebral palsy. United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) public relations coordinator Rachel Crossot said that this was the first year the event was titled the United Cerebral Palsy Golf and Tennis Classic. The event was held previously for 15 years under the name Outback Steakhouse Charity Classic.

"It's the first year for the new tournament and we would really like to see it grow. The event supports family support services and community recreation services that without private donations or fundraisers such as this would not have the funding to continue," Crossot said.

Jill Talus Grossman is a golfer who has attended the cerebral palsy event for the last seven years. Talus Grossman said she attends because she is a believer in the services the United Cerebral Palsy offers.

It's great to see events like this, where people can come together to support a cause like cerebral palsy. The more active we become in the community, the closer we will come to finding a cure!
