This is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week. Cerebral Palsy is the name given to a medical condition that arises due to a permanent injury to the brain. This injury normally occurs when the woman is expecting, or during the course of delivery, or soon after birth. Diagnosis of the condition is normally made soon after birth or in some cases in early childhood.
Often, a child's cerebral palsy is caused by a lack of attention from the hospital staff or even physical harm caused by the delivering doctor.
