Cerebral Palsy Linked to Indomethacin, Labor Prohibitor

Research published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology suggests Indomethacin, a drug used to stop pre-term labor, could actually cause birth injuries such as brain damage, including cerebral palsy because Indomethacin limits blood flow to the fetus. Indomethacin it commonly used to prevent very premature births, but some doctors also use it later in pregnancy, not knowing the possible life long health risks it could cause.
