Cerebral palsy woman records encounters with cruel public
Eva Sweeny, a 26-year-old college graduate with cerebral palsy, wants to be treated like everyone else. With a video camera attached to her powered wheel chair, she exposes people mistreating her on daily errands to stores, cafes and even in the streets.Reading this blog will hopefully make everyone sensitive to the feelings of people with disabilities. Eva doesn't want to be treated special. She just wants to be acknowledged and treated like an adult, not like a little boy for whom she is repeatedly mistaken. She mentions people give her all kinds of things, including soap from a homeless woman. Eva's blog teaches others how to politely and properly communicate with the disabled.
