Cerebral Palsy Youth Has a Love for Photography

I read a really cool article about a young man with ataxic cerebral palsy named Matthew Milligan who has a great passion for photography, despite his condition. You can imagine that, with his condition, keeping the camera still would be quite difficult.

"Sometimes my pictures turn out real blurry," Matt says.

Despite the fact that this is a challenge for Matt, he keeps at it. And it's that sort of determination that we have come to see time and time again with people who have cerebral palsy. It's simply amazing.

M.E. Parker, a professional nature photographer, thinks that Matthew has a gift. Parker is the founder for Side Streets Artists, a local group who promotes homegrown art in Southwest Florida. They even went to lengths to get Matthew into their art show at the Bonita Shores Club. He will be the youngest artist to participate.

Matthew's passion for photography began when he was 9 years-old. He took pictures of his brother, who was in training at Fort Benning, GA to be an airborne ranger. From there, his hobby blossomed.

How cool is that??
