Cheecho Mertsaris- A Sexual Predator with no Control over his Limbs?

In an unbelievable display of callous inhumanity, a judge in New York has accused a lawyer at the Taxi and Limousine Commission of sexually assaulting her. Whether he is guilty or not, we cannot say, but you can certainly judge for yourself.

The man she has accused, Hippocrates 'Cheecho' Mertsaris, suffered a brain injury during birth and has been stricken with spastic quadriplegia since birth. His cerebral palsy is so debilitating that he cannot control any of his extremities and is confined to a wheelchair.

Despite his obvious impaired physical condition, he has a fully functioning brain and has remarkably overcome all of these his physical impairments to graduate college with a law degree. He uses a special computer that allows him to write on keyboard with the back of his head.

The accuser has said that they were in a room alone while his aide was out of the office filing. During this time, she said he attacked her, grabbing her buttocks and her thigh.

This is a man who, as his lawyer has said, would not be able to feed himself a cheeseburger, even if he was starving to death.

Cheecho and his lawyer have confirmed that he did touch her, but it was certainly not sexual. He has zero control over his limbs and when she got near him; his limbs accidentally "whacked" her.

Upon getting touched by him, she screamed for help, and then went to the police to file charges against him.

Every person in this country is guaranteed the right to fair trial and to bring anything they see as unlawful before the proper law enforcement. This is the accuser's right. Having said that, she is essentially implying that a man who has absolutely no control over his limbs can suddenly gain control over them, for the first time in his life, specifically to sexually assault a woman.

It is unfortunate that a man such as Cheecho will have to go through a judicial process over something that seems as though it should have never even made it this far, but if you have any faith in the justice system, the right decision will be made and then maybe some good can come from this.

For one, Cheecho's story will be told to thousands of people, and for many, his story is an inspiration. Here is a man who was born with such a severe case of cerebral palsy that he cannot even feed himself, yet he was able to not only graduate from college, but to also move on to get his law degree and become a practicing lawyer in New York City.

Not only is his story an inspiration, but hopefully many people will take this opportunity to learn more about cerebral palsy and its causes, treatments and symptoms. The more people that know the truth about cerebral palsy, the less chance we have of hearing about a story such as this.
