Fundraiser for Cerebral Palsy Newark Patient
A paint ball game will be played on Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m. in Newark to benefit a child who has cerebral palsy. The address of the event is 1909 Dayton Road, Newark, Ohio. This event will help raise funds for Devan Kreager, a 5-year-old patient with cerebral palsy, so that he may attend the Ability Camp in Ontario California. This clinic uses the TheraSuit, a flexible orthotic device that uses elastic bands hooked to weights, to gently stretch the muscles. After his first treatment at the center Devan was able to sit up without assistance for up to 2 minutes at a time--something he was unable to do prior to the therapy.
The price of the three-week program is $4,000 and can be done three to four times per year, depending on the patient.
The cost of the fund raiser is $35 per person, which includes paint balls. A last-man standing game with special rules is planned and it will cost $5 extra per person.
