Teen With CP Competes for Miss USA

Abbey Curran is not your average beauty pageant participant - but as the 20-year-old with cerebral palsy begins contesting for Miss USA tonight - she will surely be an inspiration to girls everywhere.

Abbey has dreamed of this day since she was a small child. Not letting her neurological disorder stop her from any of her goals, Abbey has not only made a successful run at Miss Iowa, but is also a full-time college student, plays piano and is currently taking flying lessons.

While Abbey is the first person with a disability to compete for Miss USA, she is hopefully setting a course for other young girls who are battling cerebral palsy or other disabilities. And if she wins, her role as Miss USA will surely build awareness about cerebral palsy.

Speaking of awareness, many people do not realize that cerebal palsy may be the result of a birth injury. If you think your child may be affected by cerebral palsy because of medical mistakes, call us at 1-800 Attorney or fill out an online free case evaluation.
