Update: Phillip Avalon Fetal Monitor failings

in

This fetal monitor is used during labor to monitor the heart of the fetus. This machine is supposed to look at the heart patterns, heart rate and signs of distress. Nurse Diane Myers said these failings are as serious as life or death for the fetus and the mom.

Some of these monitors were picking up distress signals from the fetus when the fetus was fine, and the doctors performed a C-section which increased the chances of complications for the mother. These complications could be increased bleeding or infection. With an inaccurate reading from the monitor, the baby could be born with a brain injury due to a lack of oxygen to the brain.

Rasanksy Law Firm cares about holding doctors responsible. We recommend mothers ask their doctors what type of fetal monitor will be used at the time of labor.
