Young Man Beats Cerebral Palsy for Success With Exam
I found a great article about a young man with cerebral palsy today.Ross Moir has overcome the odds and become an inspiration in the classroom. At 12 years old, Moir uses a voice simulator to communicate and has battled against pain and frustration to achieve great academic results.
His mother Wendy has nominated him for a Young Achiever's Award to celebrate his achievements. Wendy, 37, said that she was so proud of her son and had never have thought in a million years that he would get where he is today.
The condition has robbed Ross of the use of his legs and he must depend on adults for everything. When taking a preparation exam, he had to have all of his nine papers transcribed for him, taking seven full days compared with five mornings for his classmates.
Ross has endured numerous operations and surgeries and needs check-ups every three months to ensure that he is on track. This doesn't hold him back, however. Ross dreams of becoming an English lecturer at Sunderland University.
Ross is an inspiration to all of us!
