Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare Awards Grant to United Cerebral Palsy

ST. LOUIS, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare announced today that it has awarded United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) a $15,000 grant to support A Case for Inclusion, a project spotlighting how state Medicaid programs serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. UCP is the leading source of information on cerebral palsy and is a pivotal advocate for the rights of persons with any disability.

UCP will use the grant to fund the next phase of A Case for Inclusion. This information will assist with the development of state-specific action plans for UCP affiliates regarding how to improve Medicaid services in key areas. An annual update of A Case for Inclusion will provide interested parties with an overview of how each state is performing.

"Improving access to quality healthcare for individuals receiving benefits under Medicaid is a key initiative for the Foundation," said Kathy Bradley-Wells, President, Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare. "A Case For Inclusion focuses on one of the most vulnerable populations that Medicaid serves -- those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are pleased to be able to support United Cerebral Palsy's efforts to improve services in this area."
